Justice at Last!? The Holocaust Reparation Story
Justice at last? Since the end of the tyrannical Nazi-regime, the term "Holocaust" is well known and generally associated with the suffering of innocent people under the Nazis. Often enough, the association of this particular suffering is limited to concentration camps. Little is known about the suffering connected to slave labor which also was a part of the Holocaust. Throughout World War II, the Nazis forced the inhabitants of the conquered countries and also Germans to work under horrible conditions. French or Polish people, Russians or Ukrainians, Germans or Dutch people, communists, democrats, Jews, Christians, gypsies, it did not matter where the people came from or what they believed in. All in all, the Nazis forced 14 to 15 million people to slave labor. Only 1.5 million of those fomer slave laborers are still alive today, in the year 2001. The others died knocking stones, building streets, houses, guns, bombs for the Nazis. They died of hunger or were killed. Those still alive have been seeking justice until today. Our website will give you an overview of the history of the slave laborer's claiming compensation and the final result of their efforts. Our site will also present the individual fates of different people from different countries.
