Angel Island
From 1910-1940, Angel Island served as a point of entry for a majority of Chinese immigrants coming from the East to the West.
People coming to America saw it as the gateway to success and riches, but no sooner had they set foot onto the land, reality
shattered these hopes and dreams. Denied their entry, the Chinese were detained on this island for as long as two years, frozen
between their two worlds. This website aims to educate visitors about the struggle endured for immigration through unveiling the
history and experiences of the Chinese immigrants.

Memories of the Secret War
Many people don't know about the Secret War because it was kept under a very low profile. The Secret War took place in Laos and like
its name, it implies the Secret War was a total secret. The countries involved in the Secret War were the U.S., Thailand, Laos, and
North Vietnam. The preludes to the Secret War were the differing opinions of political parties on which governmental structure would
reign in Vietman. This war caused havoc and grief to the people that occupied the territories that became the battlegrounds. Our
mission is to inform our viewers about what happened during the Secret War and how it separated the Hmong people.

Byslexia or Dyslexia?
Many people make the assumption that being dyslexic means you are not as smart as others, but this is not true. People with dyslexia
may learn at a slower rate than others or may seem to have trouble with reading and writing but this does not make them less
intelligent. Benjamin Franklin, Galileo, and Pablo Picasso had dyslexia; were they less intelligent? Many people even consider
dyslexia as a gift rather than a disability. As you further explore this website, you will learn new information about this learning
disability that you might not have known before. In this website, we have the history of dyslexia, and suggestions on how to adapt
to it.
