Conflict and Refugees: A Global Problem

1999
Conflict and Refugees: A Global Problem is a web site that examines the relationship between war and ethnic conflict around the world and its effect on people who are forced to become refugees. The web site's primary focus is on Africa, where the refugee problem is especially acute. It also examines the recent Kosovo conflict and the 1994 genocide in Rwanda as case studies. The primary objectives of the web site are to have the student: 1) gain an understanding of what refugees experience in respect to conflict and the migration of people; 2) to identify organizations and entities that exist to help refugees in their plight; 3) to become familiar with the geopolitical factors that cause and resolve refugee problems around the globe, especially in the Balkans and in Africa.
