How To Disappear Completely And Never Be Found
2009
We are examining the darker side of the 'tween novel "How To Disappear Completely And Never Be Found." We explore some of the main characters' fears: bullies, drowning, and killer bees. Because we learned of Think Quest when we were looking for information on another book, we offer up several resources to viewers. We also speculate on the setting.

Team Collaboration
Our team learned about Think Quest when we searched for information on a book we were reading in a book club and the search revealed a Think Quest site that was created by students. After investigating Think Quest, it was decided that this would be a good application to connect to a book club.
We never would have started it without help from our media assistant Mrs. Hanzel, who probably has forgotten more about literature than most teachers will learn over the course of a career. She suggested "How To Disappear Completely And Never Be Found" to read as a group, and her recommendation really appealed to the interests of the students.
The project would have merely remained a good intention were it not for the dedication of Mrs. V. She volunteered many hours of her time during and outside of school, serving as a facilitator of discussions and decisions, coordinating meetings, and seeking technical expertise from other parents, especially Mr. H.
The students researched different aspects of the story according to their interests and abilities.
