Team Collaboration
We were already working on Stars as a Grade V curriculum project for the Third term under Environmental Studies.One day we got a message from a think quest user Teacher from West of India stating that she finds it difficult to explain the content related to SPACE to young minds.That moment we decided to Innovate some activites for the Primary students.
To have diversified views we decided to collaborate with North,West and South.The Technical expertese of the assistant coach and young student at Bangalore helped us to clear our doubts in Webdesigning.The maximum work of webdesigning was done at Ambala along with little enthusastic astronuts.The challenges faced in daily class room teaching aboutTwinkling STARS were brought to the notice by students from west.Hence they triggred the spirit to scientific enquiry and helped us to simplifying learning .The every trouble shoot wa taken care by effective use of Google Talk.
The activites were planned and than exceuted in the three different zones of India.This helped us to test the validity of the activity planned with students of different geographical setup,socio economic background,mental age , grasping power and students with different psychomotor skills.
Digital Painting competition were organised by the Team members at their respective schools to foster love for the night sky.The team members contacted experts in their respective areas and conducted Interviews to clarify the doubts regarding Stars.The digital paintings were converted to Photostory at Ambala by students.
Students learning gained a new vision by collaboration which added dimensions to their personality.This website proves that the tough topic like space can be delt and explanied to young minds with simple activites .Thus collaboration helped us to siplify this challenging topic for the Primary kids.
Team Diversity
The socio economic conditions was a real challenge in faced by
the students as they did not had computers at their home .So we have to work long hours
after the school daily.They were not very profficent in Technology
hence team members used Google Talk to learn everything.The coaches were available
most of the hours online .The students diversified culture helped us to
know about the varoius stories about stars which gave us an idea to work on activites.
