Eating Disorders

2001
In today's modern and hectic society, eating disorders have become a common problem. Stress and vanity are causing people to develop an abnormal relationship with food. In short, a person who uses food to cope with life's stresses has an eating disorder. Major eating disorders to have emerged are anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and compulsive eating. Anorexia and bulimia are particularly prominent among women, who wish to be slim and slender like their idols on TV. This is a serious problem that should not be overlooked, and steps should be undertaken to resolve these eating disorders. Our aim of setting up this website is to provide a detailed site where people can identify and recognise these problems, and the symptoms and the resulting problems. Suggested remedies are also included to enable a person suffering from such eating disorders to obtain help. Thus, we wish to help them identify their own problem and understand it in detail, and go about helping themselves.
