Team Collaboration
Writing a project became as one of the methods of teaching in the beginning of 20th century. The students always ask why do you teach us this or that thing?Where can we use this knowledge? Sometimes teachers can’t answer these questions. There would be no problem if the teacher knows how to make students work on project.
Working on projects students use their knowledge and different real-life skills. Learning by project-working raises students motivation and responsibility. They work with great interest and can work hard and for a long time on different tasks.
Our team began working on the project since October. There are six members in our team and each member had his or her own task. After negotiating they reached consensus on the timing for gathering, sharing and compiling information. They decided to gather once a week after the lessons and share their ideas. At this stage the students decided their primary roles and responsibilities. For instance, they determinded who would be interviewed, what information might be found at the libraries or on the web, take photos, write the project, design the website, make questionaries and a quiz. They assigned roles most closely aligned with their interests and abilities. For instance 1)Giorgi-worked on designing the website 2) Vika-wrote the content of the project 3)Tiko- got the information from the library 4)Tika, Mari and Gocha –recorded the interview, took the photos and made the questionary.
The team worked hard and tried to help one another. The team was very friendly their classmates, who weren’t the members of the project, tried to help them and brought different interesting information.
Besides,we had another problem receiving Adobe Software grant which would be great help for us creating our website. We couldn’t create the website we thought or wanted to make. Working on this project the students mastered English language. They learned a lot about designing the website. It was really a new thing for them. This project will give a chance other students from different countries to get knowledge about the History of ancient Georgia. I want to say thank you for reading this narrative and visiting our website.
I think the educational value of this competition is great. It doesn’t only entertain but it is educational and gives a lot of information on different subjects. And it happens so easily and in a funny way that you don’t understand you get so deep knowledge about this or that theme.
Team Diversity
We don’t have such kind of diversity in our team. They all are classmates and they know one another very well.
As the team worked on the project connected with religion and legends, I may say that all the team members are from the same cultural groups and all the same religion.
I want to say that the Georgians have always been tolerant to the people of other religions. They have been famous for their hospitality and humanism.
Georgian people sacrificed their lives to defend their country and never insulted the traditions, culture and religion of the people of other nationalities living in their country.
