Team Collaboration
Since every team member has her own talent and strength, we allocate duties according to a student’s interests and talent. The three Form 6 students are better in analyzing and critical thinking skills, so they are mainly responsible for the word processing and data analyzing of the content. As the others are good at technical skills, such as drawing, using flash and other different soft wares, they focus on the technical process of the web. In this way, we can work in a more focused and efficient way. However, we have encountered problems as well. For example, scripts and writing have to be prepared before starting the design. So, three F6 girls have to speed up the writing in order to meet the schedule. Besides, the word processing team has problems regarding the translation of Chinese into English, such as the Laoist comic which talks about life. We have translated it several times, but we found that it does not match with the original Chinese words. Luckily, by having team collaboration, we agree on one version. Regarding the technical processing, we have difficulties on the comics. At first, we fail to identify the main theme of the comics, as a result, no one actually understands it. Then we have held lots of meetings in order to clarify the misunderstanding, and discuss the order of the pictures. In this way, we have successfully put our imagination into real flash.
Team Diversity
We come from a similar socio-economic, cultural and religious background. However, we have different experience towards learning, so it is sometimes difficult for us to compromise. For example, we have argument on choosing case studies; the color of the icons and background; the arrangement of the content. Fortunately, we reach the final decision by referring to an idea of user friendly. In addition, one of the members is in Australia, so we have to overcome the communication problem. For this, we keep in touch by using MSN and emails. Besides, we have different understanding regarding the topic—poverty in Hong Kong. In this way, we find out that we should not focus on the negative image of disadvantaged people, but also the positive images and try to find out some practical solutions.
