Spirit of Jade

[The main aim]: In this project, some basic features of Qinghai Kunlun Jade are exposed. From those points of penetration, we understand the extensive and profound Jade culture in China and appreciate its connotation. With the cooperation among group members, the students can improve their ability to analyze and solve the problems. [Course Standard]: Comprehensive study of Chinese after class. With the reference to Course Standard of Chinese in primary school, combining with the textbook and materials held by group members, we make a study and researches to expand the students thought and enhance their cognizing competence. [Predicted outcome]: Members primarily learn the methods and procedures of obtaining certain information by using the resources available and group cooperation. They communicate with each other, explore the culture and share the materials through network. They are fostered to respect other’s achievements and realize the importance of intellectual property rights. Every quotation is marked with its origin. Students can write down their thoughts and reflections in order to practice their writing skills and expressions. [Resources needed]: Geological museum nearby, experts in jade, books concerned and commercial activities concerning jade. [Significance]: Through these activities, the students make good use of the resources in hand and master certain relative knowledge to improve their understanding, analyzing and problem-solving ability. Realizing the power and merits of group cooperation, students are fostered to use network and the platform of Thinkquest to explore the given subject, so that they can be familiar with every tool provided on the platform and use them properly and correctly. Using the network tools which shorten the distance of regions and provide communication with friends all over the world, students enjoy the convenience of e-communication and e-learning. Through advertising the project, we want to hand down Chinese jade culture and influence other students to know the significance of network study and to be involved actively in it. In the process, the communication among city and rural schools can be strengthened and their gaps can be bridged.

Team Collaboration

In order to enable us to know the Kunlun Jade and jade culture, a team is formed voluntarily by the name “Spirit of Jade". There are eight members-a coach, an assistant coach and 6 students. Miss wu is the coach of the team and teach the course of information technology, with such characters as cheerfulness, humorousness, and affability, which enable me to communicate with students easily. As the team coach, she is the backbone of the children and she would like to help them with every step of the development of a good team plan--completing each task, summing up experiences and exchanging ideas. We are pleased to invite Mr. Tian, a Chinese teacher from Mafang primary school as the assistant coach. He is knowledgeable, open-minded and can put forward many good suggestions to our team. Rong is a prominent girl, self-confident, generous, and quick-minded; therefore, she serves as head of the team. She brings all team members together and makes a very good example. Yue, who is careful and dare to express her ideas, is good at writing and has outstanding personality, so she helps Rong as the deputy of the team. Her help turns out to be effective. Wenli is a lovely and playful girl. Because of her characters--cheerful, quick thinking, good at communicating with others, we let her collect and collate interviewing information. Mengjie is a quiet, cautious and introverted girl, so we agree that she is right person to collect and collate the pictures. Xinrui, as the only boy in the group, of course, would undertake photographing job when we go out to the spots. Akei, a third-grade pupil, has some difficulties in e-learning, but team members have confidence to teach her how to use platform-Thinkquest, and how to collect information on the Internet. In the process of our activities, each team member work together and take care of other players, especially Akei from Mafang primary school, and in return of the help, Akei shows great respect to other elder members and learns from them. In this team, everyone has to do positive thinking. Only by thinking, what we have learned can be transformed into our own things, so that we can become more intelligent. As a team, we trust and help each other. In our team, one thing needs to be stressed that we need everyone to pay their efforts. It is necessary to actively communicate and work with others. No perfect individual, only perfect team. Our team slogan is "believing in yourself and believing the partnership!"

Team Diversity

Our team members come from different two schools, namely Xining Gucheng- tai Elementary School and MaFang Elementary school. Xining Guchengtai Elementary School is located in western areas in xining city, where is a high degree of attention education, and a center of scientific research, culture, education of the city. The school has relatively perfect teaching facilities, and its students live in the city. MaFang Elementary school is located in ChengBei urban and rural area of xining city, where the education are relatively backward, and the children live in the countryside. So the two schools, attending to this project together, can promote the communication between city and countryside schools, the two school children can help each other, improve the understanding between props, deepen the friendship, and make the progress together. Our team has six students, five girls and one boy. Boys and girls use different methods of the brain, the brain activity of regional advantage is different also. If the girl is more strong in the language, the boy shows high space recognition ability, so such team may gender differences, can make a better team together and play their respective advantages. Five of the students come from our school. They belong to three different classes, each class has different connotation of class culture atmosphere. But in the activities of the different classes and grades, the differences of culture and the different understanding of different tasks will produce different results, which will make our activities more colorful. In the six students, there are five Grade 5 students and one Grade 1 student, such a mixed age group, in the process of activity, can remedy the insufficient family life. First,children are now no home singleton female, brothers and sisters, so the team can promote mixed-age student a good social formation, the older to care for the younger and the younger to respect the older. Second,different ages viewing, is to provide opportunities to learn, promote junior students' intelligence and the development of language, The third is to satisfy the senior and junior students’ success needs and improve the students' creative and practical ability. Team members with different living environment and different experiences have different ideas to know the questions, the analysis problem, problem-solving and methods. Thus they can be quite comprehensive to understand, analyze and solve problems.
