Georgia is a small mountainous country situated to the south of the Caucasus Mountains on the cross-road between the East and the West, the South and the North. It is a young country that appeared on the World map less than ten years ago and at the same time one of the oldest countries with history starting in the ancient times. Many ancient people have disappeared since that. How could a little nation, constantly invaded by powerful neighbours and visitors, such as Greeks, Romans, Bysantines, Iranians, Arabs, Mongols, Turks, Russians, escape degeneration? What was the power that helped us to survive? We'll try to tell you in brief the most important events from our history, describe you the life of our people, the soul of the nation. We hope you will not be bored and even more - we hope you'll get pleasure to meet brave and hospital people, open hearted, hard working and gay. You can compare our habitudes and outlook on life with that of other nations', put yourself in place of our heroes. Maybe at the end of our trip you feel that the tolerance to other people's views, the skill to find compromise even with the enemy, a deep devotion to own homeland and faith, readiness to fight till death for the freedom helped us to overpass the most difficult periods of our history. Once more you will learn to love your own Motherland as well as all the other peoples living on our beautiful Earth.
