Team Collaboration

The MythologyQuest team collaborated on a website design at the project's inception. After brainstorming various civilizations and their myths, the team decided to include various aspects of Celtic, Greek & Roman mythology. Each team member was responsible for a researching information for their respective area of interest and writing the content of their web page. The group collectively decided on the website design and split technical tasks in website development. One team member was responsible for designing the interactive quiz, navigation bar & propagating it throughout the site. His strengths are in technical development & the ability to quickly learn how the Dreamweaver software functioned. Another team member used Flash to create the MythologyQuest icon and refining of graphic placement on each page. He is strong in digital art & creativity. A third team member created the Flash Intro to the site. Her strengths are the ability to quickly learn software functions, as well as in-depth understanding of tasks and their completion ahead of schedule. The two remaining members of the team were responsible for proofreading, testing & correcting issues with the site. Their strengths are in the attention to minute details & focus of attention to identify / solve problems.

Team Diversity

The MythologyQuest team was diverse in a few ways. With four boys and one girl, there was a different type of dynamic whereby a different point of view & sense of organization was a welcome addition. The team also included one minority from a low income household. This team member became enthused with technology and has been inspired to pursue a technical career. The youngest member of the group struggles with an attention disorder, but found his niche in the graphic design. All team members accepted and worked with each other very well. In fact the diversity of this team was an asset rather than a liability in producing a well-rounded Thinkquest.
