Team Collaboration
We were entered very late into the competition, in the beginning of March, and we had little time to create the website and the things to go on it. For classmates that rarely interacted before, we worked very well. Yeedo had prior knowledge of graphic design and had experience with Microsoft Publisher, so he decorated and assembled the main body of the site. Matsu worked on the summaries, spending valuable school time to summarize the book. Jenna, Danica and Kaylie worked on the activities, and also generally helped everywhere.
As mentioned before, we had very little time to complete the project, and we struggled most on this problem. But we managed to get most of it done, when Microsoft Publisher crashed! The navigation bar failed, completely wrecking the whole structure of the project. But we managed to edit the pages, and we evened it out.
There was lots of stress, but we think we handled it pretty well in such a short period of time.
Team Diversity
We are a fairly diverse group, although we all live in Canada. Matsu is a 7th grade Japanese Canadian, born in Canada, with a Japanese first name and a Canadian last. He is most intelligent, and he was very helpful. Yeedo is solely Korean, 6th grade but he immigrated at the age of 2. He likes computers. Jenna is an African Canadian, born in Canada and in 6th grade. She had very good ideas for the website. Danica is Canadian in 6th grade with a bit of English mixed in. Other nationalities unknown. She is a cheerful spirit to have around. And last but not least, is Kaylie. She is in 6th grade and is Canadian, slightly Irish, too. She supplied her laptop for use of the team, and she helped in every aspect.
