Cape Point

2000
Cape Point, situated in what was previously the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, now forms part of the Cape Peninsula National Park, and is managed by the South African National Parks. It is also the furthest south western point of Africa, where the warm Mozambique current of the Indian Ocean meets the cold Benguela current of the Atlantic. This makes a significant impact on all forms of marine life in the vicinity and on the fauna and flora of the Peninsula. It is also one of the biggest tourist attractions in the Western Cape.
