See What I Say: Connecting the Hearing with the Hearing Impaired

1999
This project addresses a number of important life long learning goals Washington State's Commission on Student Learning defines communication as "a process by which we assign and convey meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. This process requires a vast repertoire of skills in intrapersonal and interpersonal processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing, and evaluating. Use of these processes is developmental and transfers to all areas of life: home, school, community, work, and beyond. It is through communication that collaboration and cooperation occurs." It is with this focus we chose to develop this cyber connection between the hearing and hearing impaired students. We also hope to broaden our understanding and appreciation for diversity while we jointly pursue these activities.
