The New Cosmos

2000
The New Cosmos is an interactive and visually stimulating educational tool specifically designed to appeal to the classroom environment. The site effectively communicates the message that astronomy is an easy and fun field of study not limited to the Ph.D. scientist, but accessible to everyone. Giving teachers the ability to customize the site's fluid navigation around the structure of their lessons, post suggestions to other teachers, print our on-line lesson plans, tests, and study guides, or go to the news section and view the day's prominent news headlines, the site molds itself around the needs of visiting teachers. Available in French, English, Spanish, and German, using the best of interactive software, offering chat rooms, bulletin boards, and a guestbook, while presenting information on everything from the history of constellations and the celestial sphere to the nuclear evolution of stars and galaxies, The New Cosmos appeals to all audiences of all age groups all over the world.
