The primary mission of the SJSD Marine Institute is to support the advancement and application of marine science in the Midwest. In doing so, the students and teacher strive to create a highly-challenging and dynamic learning environment for all involved. We also attempt to widen the scope of those touched by this experience as our students themselves teach culminating lessons in marine science to elementary school classrooms.
