BUSEKEL Five G- 3

2009
What kind of school can meet parents' needs in the future? How are schools in present different? Why do parents always want to put their kids in a modern and high tech school? Why do they often expect educators to provide the students with all the information they need? What is their opinion on the present school condition? We use school based curriculum. We are trying to make a comparative research to find out people's expectations of a futuristic ideal school. We really hope the government or anybody who is interested in education read our project and make it as their comparative target. We are trying to make an illustration on what school they imagine. This project needs at least one school to be compared and some teachers, parents and of course the students themselves to be interviewed. Team members share the tasks of interviewing those mention above. The project will help the class to have a long and nice discussion on what a futuristic school should be. Is it the same as what they are imagining? They can also discuss people's opinion on that project. We would also inform that nothing is perfect, so we only can hope.. but everything is back to the educators, government, society, and ourselves on how we judge the school. Is it a good school or a bad one? from which side do we say it is good or bad? materials/ subjects? teachers? facilities or what? Let's hope the government will make our dream school come true.

Team Collaboration

Our team works simultaneously collecting and arranging our own schedule to interview or collect data from some different resources. We share our work properly.

Rizkita: works on the profile, interviews a native speaker of English teacher, gathers some information about the comparative school (the team take one of the boarding schools in Singapore for the project since they have some friends who are studying there), and makes an illustration of what the futuristic school is like.

Cecilia: also works on the profile, interviews some people, and makes some questionnaires for some students about their dream schools in the future, and also gathers some information about the school in Singapore.

Satya: interviews and collects some information from friends, and takes pictures.

The team use their skills and dedicated themselves for this project. A big problem came up after about one week we're trying to do the project, this due to their homework and other school assignments, that is they don't know what to write and where to start. I, as the coach, organized them and let them write anything they could. They ended up by using their weekends to work on this project. We always get together on Saturday to finish this. Hope the result meet the criteria.

Team Diversity

This team is a complex one. The members come from different cultures.

Rizkita: was born in Bandung on October 27. Her parents are originally from Java (Father is from Purwekerto, Mother is from Solo). Her father was a diplomat for Egypt for 3.5 years, there she studied in playgroup and elementary school until the 2nd grade. Her mother is a notary in Bandung.

Cecilia: was born in Bandung on October 8. Her parents are mix family. Her father is from Padang, West Sumatra, and her mother is originally from Bandung.

Satya: was born in Surabaya. His father is from Gresik and he is a policeman. His mother passed away in 2001 in a car accident.

Team's socioeconomic background is different. This difference makes us easy to work on this project. We share what we don't have with others. Rizkita and Satya come from similar cultural background, Javanese, but Cecilia doesn't. The diversity makes our narration in our project different.
