Essential question or problem that this project addresses How to eat fruits healthily? Fruit classification in Chinese medicine Curriculum standards: As you know,eating fruits every day is really good for our health.But do you know how to eat fruits healthily? In the project,let the students learn some knowledge about fruits in Chinese Medicine by doing experiment,doing social surveyings and checking online.Nurture a student's ability of social experiment and doing experiment,as well as the skill of communicating or expressing.Meanwhile let the kids learn how to eat fruits healthily.And it'll lead us a healthy life.During the studying of our project,students will have the opportunity to develop some skills such as: Communication Technology Creativity Critical Thinking Social surveying Team work Self-direction Independence Expected outcomes: 1.The students make a list of the ways to eat fruits healthily. 2.The students write a report with details of the experiment and the top of the content of vitamin C. 3.The students correct the wrong way to eat fruits.And they'll make a healthy diet of fruits eaten every day for themselves. Required resources: The internet,the biological book,a digital camera, a videocorder,the biology experimental equipment,hospital resources and school resources. . How will this project help the class, school, community or world? Team Collaboration

There are five members in my team.Everyone had his or her own duty in the project,but they worked together to complete the project.The following is their division of the work.

Yidan H is a confident girl,she is also good with her classmates.So she is the leader of the team.She is in charge of the division of the members.And she is also responsible for taking a social survey.Xin S is in charge of taking a survey of the class.She is good at computer,too.She can help others with computer if they have problems on it.Xiting Y is in charge of writing the lab report.She'll tell the fruits in Chinese medicine.Jia L is better at English than the others,So she is made to be an editor.Correct the mistakes in others'speaking.

Qinghua Z is good at art,so he takes care of making pages colorful and beautiful.He is also responsible for checking information about the nutrition in fruits.

During the project,the most difficult challenge for the kids is English because they're just the students in Grade Seven from a junior high school.And they haven't learnt much English at school.Their English isn't good enough to express their ideas correctly in English.It is really hard for them.But they never gave up,they tried their best to do it well with the help of the teacher,English dictionaries and the Internet.In fact,sometimes they found what they translated by Online Translation wasn't in the right order.

Xiting Y and Jia L are really great.They have no computers at home.So it wasn't easy for them to check information online.One of them had to go to a net bar near her house after school,the other had to go to her mother's office if necessary. What's more,as you know,as Chinese students,they usually have a lot of homework to do every day.They nearly have no time to take part in the extra-curricular activities.So they had to spend more time than others on the project. They often came home late and worked late at night. But they just wanted to challenge themselves. And they made it.

As a team,the members often help each other.They know teamwork is important in the project.For example,Xin S is really helpful.She is good at computer.So she often helped Xiting Y and Jia L get lots of information they needed online.

Yidan H is a girl.She seldom goes somewhere by herself.She was a little afraid of doing a survey by herself.And she asked Qingyua Z,the only boy in the team,for help.Of course,Qinghua Z was glad to help her.At last,they finished the work together. All the members really did a good job in the project.

Team Diversity

All the members are from my school but from different class and differnt situations of families.All the members are allowed to take part in the project according to their interests and characters .Some are good at English,some like doing experiment,others are interested in searching online.And their parents really helped a lot with both money and action in our project.Xiting Y's mother is a manager of a company,she has her own office with computers,so Xiting Y could go online there.Xin S's father is a reporter,so we can borrow a digital camera and a videocorder for our project.In the project,they got information by doing experiments,doing social surveys and checking online after school,even buying different fruits for the experiments.They exploited the rich resources to finish the project,such as the resources of the Internet,their biological book, a digital camera , a videocorder,the biology experimental equipment,social resources and school resources.The photos we got on line really help make our pages more beautiful and colorful.And we can show the process and the result of our project intuitively with the photos,video, the report with details of the experiment.With the help of the diversity of resources,we've finished our project completely.And they've improved some of our skills such as communication,technology,social surveying and independence.They are really great.So I hope you'll enyoy yourself during watching our project.
