Team Collaboration

The team consists of five members from classes VII and VIII. All of them were living in different places but studying in the same school. The team is very proud to say that it collaborated wonderfully well with very great understanding. During the course of the project they never had any conflict among ourselves.

Every member in the team helped each other mutually in every step. They visited the neighbouring villages and interacted with the tribes. One amongst them is technically expert and the other is good at drafting. If one is good at taking photography means the other is an expert in organizing the ideas logically.

Likewise, each one of them was supportive to the other and the learning experience opened up many vistas for them and could find their strengths and weaknesses. They were self motivated to quest for knowledge and instilled the healthy competitive spirit which brought out all their innate capabilities to limelight.

Three of them were from class VIII and two of the team members were from class VII.These lower class members were highly enthusiastic enough to flood in quite a lot of information and it became difficult for the team head to organize and edit. Their enthusiasm became highly infectious and affected all, as well. The learning through such collaboration became wonderful irrespective of the age and experience. The youngsters proved to be excellent once they understood and involve themselves in the project.

They all interacted and discussed with each other about the project at one particular time every day on line. They shared their collections and asked each other's opinion. They valued the opinion and followed the guidelines suggested by the members.

A very appreciable quality of the team is, none of them were domineering during the working of the project. When they started working on the project, day after day, their involvement grew stronger and stronger and many new ideas started flowing in uncontrollably. It became very difficult for the team head to control their creativity, as the dead line for uploading the project was nearing.

They all felt that still they could work more on the project as many more doors were opening one after the other while going indepth into the project. We would like to express strongly that the team collaboration gave them a new dimension to each one of them in understanding each other and their potential as well as about the project "Learning Through Living Badagas" from whom they learned to live and work harmoniously.

Team Diversity

All the members of the team were from different background and culture. When the topic was chosen about the indigenous people of Nilgiris, they thought how are they going to work and how are going to have the field trip and interact with these people, as they were all from different cultural background. But this diversity of culture made them learn better about other culture and also made them learn about their own in a better manner.

Two of the members were from the same tribal community of the Hill, Badaga and the other two from the Andaman Island and one of the members was from the other normal community from the plains.

Among the members, four were girls and one was a boy. Being a boy among four girls did not make him feel odd or hesitant. Moreover, his presence in the team helped the team a lot in understanding the feeling of a boy in the Badaga community.

The presence of Badaga girls in the team helped the team to interact with their old grant parents and village women without any hesitation. The hospitality shown by them could not be forgotten at all. The interaction also taught a lesson, the way,how the people should live unitedly.

The members from Andaman Island lived and experienced the culture of that Island shared their views and cultures of that area which enlightened us to compare and contrast the varied culture in the light of Badaga tribal culture. Though, India is famous for its varied culture and its unity which we study in text book, when experienced through learning gave us insight into the depth of it.

One of the members belonging to a non-tribal community, come from entirely a different cultural background and modern living, and this diversity in the team gave a wonderful opportunity to learn about our own country,India, and the people in it. Learning through living humans and sharing it with other humans, inspiring them to follow in life, made the life meaningful and purposeful.

The members from different background and culture gave a real strength and support to pursue the project with in-depth study to understand the tribes and their beliefs and faiths, humaneness, value for the fellow being and their feeling.

The diversity of the team with different experience and caliber is always good to work with to have a critical and composite knowledge.
