Our web site is about the Chesapeake Bay. This region is an important part of Maryland. We wanted people to understand how the Bay was formed and why it is important to our state. We have included a lot of the animals that make their home around, and in, the Bay. We have pages about the Blue Crab, Oysters, and Rockfish, and about the Blue Heron and Canada Goose , among others. The Bay is a very important habitat for many animals. It is also important to people. It provides food and recreation. Because of its importance, we think people should know about it and help protect it for the future.
