Visitors to this educational web site will learn about rocks and minerals. They will enter the Global Museum and take a tour of different rooms containing pictures and information about types of rocks, crystals, minerals, gems, birthstones, metals, meteorites, and volcanoes. They also will learn about the history of the Earth and about plate tectonics. In addition to these rooms there is a literature room where visitors can learn about fantasy books that use gems as a symbol of magic. There are many hands-on areas in the museum too: a game room with interactive games, a crystal garden where visitors can do a science experiment, and a scout workshop. At the scout workshop, boy and girl scouts can work on geology merit badge requirements. We would like visitors to learn and have some fun.
