State College
1998
We would like kids all over the USA to learn about their state and other states in a more memorable, unique, and even personal way than the usual textbook and classroom lectures afford. Also, we are assuming that many of the state facts sent will be from students who live in the very state being addressed. This certainly adds credibility to the information and motivation to the learner. All of these factors truly personalize the learning process for students. We planned this website to create a relevancy and motivation for learning about the USA. We also planned it to create the feeling that friendships between the states are being made as learning about the states is taking place. We think no other medium can meet these goals as well as the WWW and, we think our website takes full advantage of this fact. Additionally, we designed our website to be easy for young students to grasp the information presented. We chose not to load each page with too much information. However, we provided two excellent links for them to explore, if more detail is needed. In conclusion, our State College website was meant for kids to have fun while learning about their country and about others.
