Surfing and Sailing the Seven Seas

This is an interdisciplinary, cross-curricular unit about oceans that integrates life science, geography, maritime history, math, language arts, art, and music. Our goal was to design a web site that would be interactive and fun. Kids have lots of opportunities to navigate the site. We have also created a fun game that teaches students unusual facts about sea creatures. One objective of the site is to show people that oceans have been a very important part of the human experience. This is shown in our pages about Art, Music, Myths and Ships. Another objective is to provide basic, valuable information about ocean life and geography. Our links on the Geography page will show the location of bodies of water on a map. We added audio and visual material so that kids who have trouble with reading can still enjoy navigating our web page.
