Team Collaboration
The members in our group all have special abilities to help out the group. I was chosen as the group’s leader, so what I did was assign each person in our group their due dates for their pages. I, Cameron I chose to do our topic on Astronomy. I'm also like the director for the group. I chose how our buttons would look and how I wanted our background. I really didn't want a bland looking page so I chose to do a collaboration of Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver. Ricardo is the one person in our group who knows the ins and outs of all the programs we use. He helps our group with coding the buttons in Macromedia Flash an animation programs. He also uses a program called Swift 3d. This program allowed Ricardo to create swf files-- a format used in flash to display 3d vector graphics. The reason Swift 3d was brought to our group’s knowledge was the fact that it could create 3d rotating planets. This was a big help because I wanted our group’s buttons to be 3d rotating planets. If it wasn't for Ricardo and his fantastic knowledge of using programs like Swift 3d, my idea probably wouldn't have happened. Another thing Ricardo is always happy to help out the group in any way he could. He never complains if a program doesn't work and he always tries to do anything that’s necessary to make a program or something of the like work. Isai’s basically an equal to me in the group. I say this because im the leader in the group and he basically does a large percent of the work. He created our sites intro all by himself and chose to do his own black hole page by himself as well. He keeps the group on task at all times. Then there’s Leo. Leos special for our group. He has the ability to be able to trace images. He’s a quick thinker for our group. For example Isai had a problem using Macromedia Dreamweaver. He was trying to import a moving star he created from flash and wasn't able to do it, so Leo was called upon and he was able to fix this problem immediately. When Leo imported the flash object to Dreamweaver he then added this code “wmode = transparent”, this code allowed Leo to remove the background from the moving star Isai created in flash. Our entire group has helped out one way or another. We need each other to make this website great.
Team Diversity
In our team we have some diversity. Our group has one African American and the rest of the three are Hispanic. Most of us come from different backgrounds and where raised in different parts of Chicago. Mostly in crime infested areas. We also have different religious beliefs and at times that affected the way some of us felt about our topic.
Our team deader, Cameron, is African American. He was raised in the Humboldt Park area in Chicago. This are has all types of ethnicities in the neighborhood population. He comes from a Christian background. Because of this his topic on the big bang was difficult for him because it contradicted his religious beliefs. The big bang contradicted his beliefs Christianity and God, because of Genesis chapter 1:1 . Since the Big Bang supposedly created The Universe from a large explosion 15 billion years ago he gave his opinion on this on whether or not he believes in the big bang. Cameron was a social person from the beginning. He never hesitates to meet new people. He put in a lot of hard work into the project and helped out the rest of the team when needed.
Isai is Mexican decent. He was the only one in the group that wasn’t raised in Humboldt Park. This neighborhood mainly contains Hispanics and Caucasians. His religion is also Christianity but he can question it sometimes. Isai is a social person. He loves to interact with others and he likes to say what’s on his mind. His topic didn’t contradict his beliefs. He is a fast worker and we were able to finish our project on time because of this.
Leonardo is also Mexican decent. He comes from a Catholic religion. Leonardo has always been a social person. He loves to interact with people. He is never shy. His topic on constellations didn’t affect his religious beliefs. He was a good worker and partner for this project and because of this we were able to finish.
Ricardo is Ecuadorian decent. He also comes from a Catholic religious background. He wasn’t always a social person, he was a little shy. Throughout time he became more confident with himself. His supernova topic had no affect on his religious beliefs. He was able to finish his portion of the project and it came out to be great.
Though we all come from different ethnicities and backgrounds whether it’s religion or where we were raised, we were all able to work together as a team. Most of us used the same source for pictures because of the permission that we were granted.
