Be Pet Smart

"Be Pet Smart" is a Web site on humane education of animals who become our pets. It teaches children how to choose the right pet and how to care for it. We provide information on 8 different kinds of animals that make good pets, and personal things to consider when choosing a pet. A "wish list" is included specifically for our viewers in Hawaii, who can contribute items to the Hawaiian Humane Society. Viewers from other states should contact their local animal shelters (humane societies) to find out how they can help. One of our team members wrote a poem about a pet who runs away from his owner because of being abused. He finds refuge at the pet shelter until new, humane owners can be found. We provide an award which can be printed out and completed with viewers' names after they visit our site and receive humane education on animals.
