Team Collaboration

We are all different and have different backgrounds. All of us work with our individual opinions and sometimes, we bump heads but we still work nicely as a team and try to please everyone's opinions. We work as hard as we can but we sometimes come across challenges to face. Our team had some trouble here and there, but we helped each other get through most of the challenges. Each of us divided the work on our website by having each individual assigned to a different topic about Central Africa. We focused more on our topics because of this action. We all helped each other through our challenges. For example, we once had a problem regarding our website’s cascading style sheet codes. We had our fellow group member, Kim help us complete the CSS style sheet which helped us a lot. Another example of one of our team members helping the team’s work on the website was Fatima. She managed and organized who worked on what subject. She assigned our topics which helped us focus much better. But we had some problems that were harder to solve. The conflict was how all of us would meet outside of school, other than in class to work on our website project. We solved this problem by deciding to stay after school and meet up at the public library, which was nearby. That is also another example of how another person, Jessica, contributed an idea to help and solve a problem of the group. Another problem the group had was when a new person, Ashley, joined the team. We had a really difficult time worrying about what kind of topic she was going to do, since most of the subjects on Central Africa were already taken. We solved this problem when our whole group thought of subjects that would suit Ashley until we figured out a topic. This teamwork we had done helped us through a large challenge. This group project was a really good experience for us because it helped build our experience on HTML pages, partnership, and thinking. It helped us work together and build teamwork with each other.

Team Diversity

The team's diversity and sources are unlike others. We used other sources besides the internet, such as books. This enhanced our website by providing it with plenty of descriptive information. Our team consists of four members: Fatima, Kim, Ashley, and Jessica. They come from different cultural backgrounds. Kim and Jessica were both born in Manila, Philippines. Fatima is part Russian and part Asian. Ashley is Italian and Mexican. This shows that our team has a large variety of cultures. The fact that we all come from different backgrounds shows that we all have a different type of life. We all have different religions, holidays, food, and plenty more items. This shows that we all can bring some type of information about our cultures to our group. People that are born in other parts of the world have different knowledge from a person living in the US. Asians could know more about Asia, and Russians would know more about Russia. Having a religion that is similar to or related to the project really helped us out because someone can just write about what they know and not look up any information. When you are Christian, it is simple to understand the religion of Christianity. This is useful because Christianity is common to people especially in the continent of Africa. Each one of us had many ideas to contribute to the project. For example, a person might have more talent for writing, can be good at finding pictures, or another can be a very good editor. Having diversity in a team is a great way to express cultural ideas and other thoughts.
