Our team has been through a lot during the months of the ThinkQuest competition. We have overcome many challenges. Our team has stuck together and we are here to stay!!! Our team has done some hard work, and we’ve learned a lot this process. We’ve learned a lot about teamwork, and how important it is. My name is Colleen, and I did the homepage. Caroline created the Malaria page, and Emily created the turtle page. Our team of three, plus our coach and assistant coach, has worked really hard to inform the world that global warming is a real problem. Our team has had to deal with missing school because of a big ice storm and also with the Internet recently going down. When the Internet went down, we could not search for pictures or find our research materials for our website. The ice storm of 2008, made us miss about 3 days of school. During that time we had no way to communicate with the rest of our team. Our town was without power from 3-7 days, depending upon where you lived. Our team has worked very hard. We have helped each other when the help was needed, and we’ve come a long way since the beginning of the year. We took a lot of time working on our website. Our team comes in every morning before school and during afternoon recess just for ThinkQuest alone. Our team even came in one Saturday!! We love the work we’ve done for this contest! Our website will be on the Internet, and to us that’s just wonderful! We are thankful for the ThinkQuest competition, and we’ve learned a lot from it. Our site has come together great and we’re very happy at the way we pulled it together.
People all over the world have different perspectives about the cause of global warming. Some people don’t believe it is happening. They don’t see the changes in the environment and the Earth. People don’t take the time to look and see what is happening to our world. The glaciers are melting, the animals are in danger, and people are so caught up in their lives that they don’t even notice. We created this site to help kids and parents understand that what they do daily, hurts the environment. We hope that once you see and read the work done on this site, you will have a better understanding of what global warming is doing and how fast it is changing our planet. Global warming is just like a disease and it’s spreading. You can’t prevent global warming now, but you can try to help stop it. Just by changing some of the daily things you do, you can help save people, animals, and your world. Some of these things are: more energy efficient transportation, less electricity, and composting. This is our point on this site. In our research we saw things you wouldn’t, couldn’t imagine. Things that haven’t dawned on any of us until now. These are the things that we are doing: polluting the air, giving out carbon dioxide, and ruining wonderful animals’ environment.
