A Bad Start: Teenage Smoking

2000
The ultimate aim of A Bad Start: Teenage Smoking is to deter adolescents from ever picking up the addictive habit of smoking. This goal is achieved not only by providing the harmful effects of tobacco to the human body but also by discussing the social issues that surround this topic. Currently, our societal climate condones youth to smoke although we may not approve of it. There is also big tobacco spending unimaginable amounts of money trying to lure people into smoking. En route of deterring teenagers from smoking, this website also provides the information for current smokers to quit smoking. In addition, there is also information on the latest scientific research regarding tobacco and smoking. Even important court cases are broken down and the essential information is provided. One of the unique features of this site is the Pyramid of Oath where users can commit to a smoke-free life, and add their name to build the pyramid.
