Team Collaboration

Voting on a group leader to be the overseer of all projects, we divided up the work based on each team member's strengths and weaknesses. The various jobs included: Web designer, Topic and resources researcher and Flash and multimedia animators. We shared ideas during the start of periods and started each lesson with a 5 minute group meeting to ensure everyone was ready to start working and knew what they are aiming for. With the team leader continuously monitoring, everyone got on with their own individual tasks and worked hard towards meeting the deadline. Once the researchers had gathered their information, the work was collaborated onto Dreamweaver and prepared graphically. Jonas, for example, was in charge of creating Flash animations because of his talent and experience in using the program. On the other hand, Max showed clear signs of spirit and leadership, and was therefore elected as the team leader.

Team Diversity

Having the website be based upon a location where all of the team members live in was a great help to our research as it provided us with a huge variety of nearby sources. Aside from gathering information from the internet, we were also able to include our own personal knowledge from living in and traveling around China and other countries. Even though some members had spent a greater time here than others, and are even partly Chinese themselves, everyone was able to contribute and provide useful information that was presented onto the website. Despite the fact that we all come from different countries around the world (Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brazil, UK) and have different cultures, this website has given us a great opportunity to work together and share our love for China.
