The Union and the Confederacy: Both Sides of the American Civil War
1999
This Civil War website was created by sixth grade members of our Web Weavers after school computer club. The goal of the website was to research aspects of the American Civil War and through first person research (i.e. interview, email correspondence) as well as secondary research (newspaper articles, books and magazines and electronic encyclopedias and other websites) gather information about both the Union and the Confederacy and present that information in multimedia format. One aspect of the website was to feature local area sites to our town (Centreville, VA) such as Manassas Battlefield and the five area churches used as field hospitals during the war.
