An Exchange Year in the USA

Our webpage is about spending a year abroad as an exchange student in the United States. All three of us are former exchange students. We spent our exchange year in the USA in 1997/98. The goal of this webpage is to encourage new and help future exchange students. There is an overview of different exchange programs available and a brief checklist about what somebody should do before leaving home. To give other students an idea how it is to spend a year abroad in the US we wrote down our own experiences and collected comments and opinions from other exchange students, hostfamilies and organization employees. In addition we compared the USA with our homecountry Switzerland and took a close look at the American schoolsystem.
