Want to learn more about virtual worlds and avatars and how they might be used for educational purposes? First you'll need some software like The Palace or Active Worlds, but don't worry, links are provided so you can download what you'll need--for free! Take the students' advice that not all virtual worlds are inhabited by friendly people, and that hanging out in them can be addictive.
