Team Collaboration
Making our website was a challenge but we succeeded. We had a lot of fun making this website and we hope that it will help a lot of people.
We came up with the idea of Chinese Festivals because two of the members of are Chinese. Ori and Mei, were both born in China and wanted to study a topic that was Chinese. Lara and Amanda thought that China was too big of a subject so we compromised. China has so many festivals so everyone thought that it would be a good idea to focus on Chinese festivals. Some of the festivals that we studied were the Spring Festival, Qingming festival and our favorite, the Lantern festival.
What was nice is that everyday we would learn something new and would never get bored of learning about that subject.
We each had a different job to make our website the way it is. Lara, our team leader would come up with ideas and then Ori would say if our team should or should not do something. Amanda is the assistant leader. She would take over if Lara was not there or just give ideas. Mei our recorder would make sure we had all our materials and file everything away.
After a while, we came up with the same ideas and we all agreed on the same things. Each person had their say and each person would get to do different thing. We were creative and had a lot fun. We spent day after day working and thinking of things that would be interesting on how to present our website. We all had great ideas at one point, and we didn’t know how to handle it very well. We tried everything and then finally voted. We went with the idea that had the majority of the votes.
Team Diversity
All of us are different in many ways. Two of our group members were born in China. The other two group members were born in the United States. All of us do different kinds of sports. Mei runs, swims, and ski. Ori ice-skates, swims, and dance. Amanda runs, swims, and ski. Lara only does horse back ride. We all enjoy traveling. Amanda goes to Cape Cod every summer. Ori has gone to some places like Florida, Vermont, and North Carolina. Mei has gone to China, Vermont and Canada. Lara has gone to many places. Some places are like Hawaii, Carolina, and New Hampshire.
All of use have favorite subjects. Some of use like the same subjects. Ori, Mei, and Amanda likes math. Lara really likes writing. Lara also likes reading and so does Ori, Mei, and Amanda.
About All of Us
Lara
Hello, I am Lara. I am mostly obsessed with horses (that’s why I put them first). I am currently riding a chestnut Arabian named Dustin. He is very sweet though he has his stubborn side. I used to own a brown Quarter Horse mare but when I moved here (New Hampshire) I had to sell her. Though I currently do not have a horse of my own I hope to someday in the near future.
My favorite academic subjects are social studies and language arts. I love to write creative stories and learn and discover new things
Mei
Hello, my name is Mei. My name “Mei” is Chinese. I am 12 years old and I am in the Sixth grade. I am Chinese and I was adopted from Linchuan, China when I was three years old. I have great ability for running, tell-a-mark skiing, and art. I live with my mother, father and my two sisters, one older and the other one younger. I also have two pets, a dog named Rosemary and a cat named Bella. I am an A student. I was introduced to making websites in school. So far, I have been enjoying doing this with my friends and it has been a lot off work putting it all together.
Ori
Hi! My name is Ori. I am Chinese like my friend Mei. I am from a different part of China called Hunan. I was adopted when I was a one year old. I am 11 years old and in the sixth grade. My favorite things to do are ice skate, dance, and swim. I live with my mother and my dog. My dog’s name is Zamora. My mother is a first grade teacher. I am an A student. I enjoyed making this website with my friends. I thought it was challenging.
Amanda
Hi! My name is Amanda. I am 11 years old and in the 6th grade. I like to run, ski, dance, swim, and go to the beach. I love to go to school and see my friends. My favorite subject is math and academic work. I live with my mom and dad.
