During the nineteenth century, a wave of Dutch immigrants left their home country of the Netherlands, also known as Holland, and established the city of Holland, Michigan and surrounding communities. "From Holland to Holland: Dutch Emigration to Michigan" follows their journey from the Netherlands to the United States and examines how their settlement has grown since its founding.
