## Basic Physics Derivations 2000

Members of my group and I have taken Advanced Placement Physics at out high school. During the class we found out how important it is to now how various equations were derived. It helped us to remember them better, or if we forgot them, we knew how to derive them. This web page is supposed to help students that are enrolled in physics or just want to expand their horizons to see how some of the complicated equations are derived. The page is going to contain three to five categories of derivations. The first category is on projectile motion. This category is focused on objects moving in a straight line, and some of the derivations include the range equation and time in the air equation. Second category is on the topic of friction and inclined planes. Some of the derivations include the coefficient of static friction and the normal force acting on the object. Another category is going to be on the momentum and energy. Those two categories go hand in hand and contain numerous derivations. Some of them include: impulse on the object, change in momentum of the object, pendulum problem, torque, and work. All of the derivations will be listed on the front page and when clicked on the user will be guided to a new page with the derivation, which will include a colorfull picture of the situation, step by step logic, and a simple example where the equation is used. This web page will hopefully help students understand the origin of some of the fundamental equations in the physics field. Also keep in mind that some of the derivations are not in the classroom textbook and were obtained from out physics teacher. Thus, students have a chance to learn something new and expand their knowledge in physics.
