Fishin' Around
1999
Our entry is about sport fishing. By visiting the Types of Fish, page of our website, students can learn about many different types of popular game fish and hints about where to catch each. On the Fishing Gear page of our website, students can learn about the different things youll need on a fishing trip: baits, lures, rods, reels, etc. The Fishing in Your State page of our website uses a U.S. map to link browsers to state game and parks commissions (or other fishing-related sites) in each of the 50 states. Students can click on their state to check out fishing in their state: types of fish, places to fish, techniques to use, etc. It will probably be the most popular page on our site. When we tested our site at a curriculum fair at our school, it was the most popular page with students. Our Fishing Techniques page has an easy to read chart with information about the steps to catching fish, what time of day to fish, and what kind of baits and lures to use. The Styles of Fishing page tells about ice fishing, trolling, and fly fishing. We also have links to the In-Fisherman magazine and Zebco Shimano companies websites, so browsers can check out the latest in techniques and equipment. Were sure that student browsers who have an interest in sport fishing can learn something new while browsing our website, and it may spark an interest for others.
