Team Collaboration

Our team faced many problems in the course of this project, especially with the content that was going to be showcased on the website, and the flash content. We were rather confident about the content that we were about to fill the website with, but as we were browsing through the Rules and Regulations of the competition, we realised that we had violated the rules stating that we were not allowed to copy any material from external websites, and that we could not link our website to external websites(our idea of forums had to be abolished).

It was then that I, as the team leader, decided that we should change our view of the project, so as to fit the criteria that has been set. All of us worked together as a team to ensure that the work could be submitted on time.

Dorminic and Emmanuel, our IT-in-charge, managed to improve on their IT knowledge by learning actively from a teacher from our school, Victoria School in Singapore, and finally managed to finish our website and design it with care and effort.

There were also occasions whereby team members were unable to finish homeworks and assignments as they were trying their best to finish the work for this competition. I feel that the team has done well in being able to work together(teamwork) and also in the making of the website, and that we have really put in a lot of effort.

Team Diversity

As our team was focussing on the education system in other countries, sources of information of those countries, namedly India, China, and Malaysia, were taken from websites from the country that we were doing research on. This allows the information to be more reliable, as it comes from the country itself.

Also, our team consists of people of different religions, be it Christians or Buddhists, which allowed us to approach matters in different views and take different approaches in handling issues such as how to encourage scholars to make friends with the local students in Singapore.

I feel that diversity in the team has allowed us to be able to have different perspectives in viewing matters altogether, and have more reasonable resolutions to solving problems as a team. The website contains reliable information as an effect of diverse sources, and i feel that that should be our value-add for the website.
