A New Perspective on Science and Art

1996
"Perspective art" was the fifteenth through seventeenth century answer to 3-D glasses: art so lifelike you want to touch it. Artists like Leonardo da Vinci wove the scientific principles of optics and illusion into their art, creating images that trick the eyes and fool the mind. Read biographies of the featured artists and the techniques they used. You can also take a short quiz, investigate projects to try, and read suggestions for further research.
