Team Collaboration

It was in late march when one of us brought back the idea of participating at thinkquest. I say brought back because last year we tried the same thing but could not reach to an agreement between us, regarding the subject of the site and the way we wanted it to look like.

One year passed and all 3 of us became interested in one subject: The year 2012. So many things have been said about this year and the events that will happen at that time that we wanted to select some of them and present them in an "easy-to-understand/read" way.

Dividing the tasks was not the easiest task possible, as we all have some knowledge of building a website, writing and knowledge related to the website's subject. But in the end, we decided that the best formula would be: Cornel - website design and coding of the website, as that is his passion, Sebastian - Writing the first three sections (The Motive of the Writing, The year 2012, Planet X, Nibiru), as I love to read and get to know about the mystical facts of the world and Sorin - writing of the last section, regarding the Universe, as he is more science-oriented. It was great because each of us found a way that he could integrate his passion in the whole process of building the website.

But we had our own problems... we got into the project a bit too late to have a relaxing time. School for us required a lot of time so finding time to work on the project was actually hard. We had a lot of stress especially on the last day when everything had to be ready quick.

We had lots of tensions, I even wanted to quit once, but my colleagues encouraged me and made everything look easier - and they did it that good that I didn't think of quiting anymore and so the project was done. Probably I didn't have time to think of it anymore either...

All in all when I think back of it I have to say: It was great! We had a lot of teamwork, individual work and above all, lots of fun, as we found a smart way of integrating what we liked most in our work and found the best colleagues to do the rest.

Team Diversity

Diversity is one of the strong points of our team. “Diversity” as a word may refer to multiculturalism , including different cultural or religious backgrounds. Even if we all are part of the same city , we have gone a little further into the meanings of this word and we can assure everyone that our team is based on the diversity that several teams could develop altogether.

It is not the simple facts that we are presenting to you like the place we live , our religion and the school we attended to , we define our team's diversity as the range of our mental capabilities , the way we think and the way we like to show you what we thought about.

Combined , our efforts resulted in a wide and complex website , full of diversity on a certain domain.

The facts present us as follows : we are all from Bucharest , Romania . Two of us are at the same school . We are friends since 4 years and keep in touch occasionally. Each of us took the tasks that he could make best, that actually fit his passion. The main challenge we had to over come was to entirely build up the site in less than 4 days, but we are proud we managed to do it. In the making of the website all 3 of us got to do different tasks: one was related to the coding of the website, one meant the writing of the mysterious texts and one was writing curious scientific facts regarding the Universe, so our "written-thoughts" came from very diverse subjects.
