Dai Pai Dong

Dai Pai Dong is an open-air traditional food store of Hong Kong. It’s once very popular but since 1970s, government began to purchase back the licenses from the owners and stopped continuing the license after the owner is dead. As the result, the number of Dai Pai Dong declined. Up to Feb, 2006, there’re only 28 Dai Pai Dong in Hong Kong.
