Team Collaboration

Originally we started off with a 2 member team - both of us from the same class. Later, we roped in another schoolmate from another stream and class. She was very good at Dreamweaver, so she used her knowledge to develop the site. Her technical skills helped us overcome the first barrier. Pamela is someone who reads alot. Therefore she helped us in the research. Finally, Althea (me) put them all together.

We had issues in terms of meeting together as a team for discussing the development of the website. But because all of us are independent workers, we managed to work online through email and blogs to `converse' and come to a decision.

Team Diversity

We are not of the same age group. This diversity helped us to bring in our own thinking. The junior members think differently and we, the seniors, of course have our own thinking. One of the member is a Peranakan whose culture is a kind of mix between the Malay and Chinese. As such she was able to identify the hip-hop style - being a newly evolved form of dancing and presentation as her culture is into a similar kind of art form. In fact one of the best part of the Peranakan weddings, is the the Dondang Sayang, a form of off the cuff rhyming song in Malay, sung and danced by guests. Someone would start on a romantic theme which will be carried on by others, each taking the floor in turn slowly dancing in slow gyrations as they sing. It requires quick sense of humor and wordplay and often gives rise to laughter and applause when a particularly clever phrases are sung. The harmonious accents of the Baba-Nonya and their charming turns of expression lend to the charm of this performance. This is somewhat similar to the hip-hop, which the rest of the members find interesting.
