The project set new standards for collaboration as it was an amazing example of team work in particular and an unbelievably outstanding example of coordination and collaboration .A beautiful example of this skill was an incident which occured when we were going to the Mahul village which was about 30 to 40 kms from our school one of the members sakar was ill, but joined us and on the way he took very ill and vomitted profusely in the car, his clothes were totally soiled .We decided to return but he refused, we were fortunate to find a garage near by where the mechanics took pity on us and volunteered to clean up. Sakar was feeling much better and refused to return, as he understood the significance of the visit for the project . The students had brought a 2nd pair of dress to have some fun at the beach and it came in handy.While one of them gave his shirt another gave Sakar his shorts and they took care of each other. This incident created a bond and helped in doing the project smoothly. While Suyesh was a wizard with words .Ankit helped with his technical abilities. Shubham and Sakar did the video recordings and compilation of data ,while Tarun and Namit helped with the research and editing. Each of them had a role to play which they did with acumen.In the course of the project they learnt critical thinking skills like why the fisher folk should be protected ,what are the solutions for their problems ,Their creative juices started flowing with the design of the sites and their culinary skills improved .technically each of them learnt to use the dreamweaver software embedding tools ,making flash videos had a field day learning Technology which was the major hurdle that was instrumental in many depressing days .however it was teamwork and self direction which helped them explore various options and overcome the hurdles learning to embed videos into the website being the toughest .It also helped them to have an understanding and sensitized them to the plight of fisher folk and correlate it to their curriculum. They revised and re revised various government laws to find solutions and understand about them like the “Atrocities Act “They belonged to different social and economic background but used them as their strengths .
The team was diverse in their eating habits ,spoke different langusges and as they admitted on their own they were not the best of friends but this project made them into a team .While Sakar and Shubham spoke Marathi at home this helped us to interact with the Kolis.Ankit belonged to gujarat and spoke Gujarati dialect while Suyesh was from Bihar and spoke Hindi.Namit was a Sindhi .Tarun was from Uttarpadesh in the northern part of India and had lot of difficulties in communicating and understanding English but was able to speak fluently in English and also edited a number of webpages.In the couse of their project The students overcame their socio economic differences and Even stayed in each others homes .
