Arbor Lodge, a Nebraska State Historical Park in Nebraska City, is a stately, 52-room mansion surrounded by formal gardens and hundreds of magnificent trees representing many native and cultivated varieties. Arbor Lodge served as the home of J. Sterling Morton, Secretary of Agriculture under President Grover Cleveland and the founder of Arbor Day. On this site you will discover early forms of transportation, study different types of trees, and plants, reach into the life of J. Sterling Morton and his family and unveil some unique inventions. Each form will have a connection with Arbor Lodge. Art was truly relevant to the Mortons, examples of Tiffany glass, hand-painted china, furniture and 360 views of the marvelous sculptures.
