White Gold - Cotton

1999
Our entry is over planting, harvesting, ginning, and classifying cotton. It also explains how cotton is turned into thread and fabric. It is educationally beneficial for those interested in where their clothes comes from and how they are woven or knitted into fabric. U.S. history teachers can also use this site to show the difference from Eli Whitney's cotton gin compared to the huge modern gins of today. Children growing up in cities may have an interest in real farms and small town life.
