Team Collaboration
At the very outset, when we sat down to decide on a topic for our website, we wanted to choose a topic which left an impression on people’s minds. We didn’t want to take a purely factual tangent to our topic. And hence we decided on religion. We felt this was very relevant in current context. Also, the fact that our team consisted of people with different schools of thought meant that we could provide an unbiased viewpoint.
The team was brought together by Hariharan or ‘Hari’ as we call him. Known for his meticulous work ethic amongst his peers, he deftly set out to work. All the team members were highly motivated and wanted to leave their mark on this competition having seen our seniors do the same two years back. Ritesh and Hari set out to design the website outlay, Tanvee and Arun started working on the content structure.
The entire process of communication and work was done very professionally. We created a Google group to upload all the documents on which we had worked. We had a number of "meetings” which would invariably end up in a sumptuous dinner and discussions about our other common interests. This sort of a relaxed environment helped to bring out the best in us. And while the site was under development; we set out with the surveying process and asked people’s views on the issue at hand.
At the end of the day, this has been an experience which all of us have cherished. As we strive to enlighten our readers, we ourselves have emerged wiser, with a broader perspective on religion. Tanvee, who has been an atheist all her life, found a number of religious principles which she could relate to, while Arun, who was a believer started questioning some of his existing ideals. At the end of the, all of us truly believe in what we are advocating here, and it truly is an honor for us.
Team Diversity
An atheist aerospace engineer from Singapore, an agnostic computer science student from Hyderabad, a Hindu electrical engineer student from Delhi and a Sikh computer science student from Bombay, we are a diverse group of students, who have come together in our university to work on this project.
