Straw-Bale Housing

2009
This website explores the benefits and aspects of a new type of housing consisting of straw-bales. Straw-bales are not only environmentally friendly, as they can conserve our forests, but they are also economically beneficial as they can provide people with cheaper housing around the world.

Team Collaboration

We collaborated as a team by splitting the project up into different tasks, and assigning each member of the group one or more of those tasks to complete. For example, one worked on formatting the website itself, while the other members researched the various aspects of straw-bale houses, like its economic or environmental benefits. After we had gathered the text and media that would be included in the website, we would then relay what we had accomplished to our website design person so he could put it in the website. One of the greatest challenges we faced was learning how to use the software. Luckily, one of us was good with computers and was able to help the rest of us whenever we had any issues.

Team Diversity

Although all of our team members were born in America, some of our parents emigrated from other countries. For example, one team mates father was born in Wales and his mother was born in Israel, while another's parents are both from Asia. Our team is a mix of Asian and Caucasian.
