Team Collaboration

Teamwork and communication was not a problem for us. We pretty fairly divided up our writing and graphic design tasks. We all had different strengths that utilized to help each other out. We gave one mystery to each member, with the exception of Derby having two because hers had less to write about. Eunice taught herself to use Flash to make an animation for our website. She has a very active, imaginative mind that she used to design the layout and graphics of our website. Teresa is very good with Photoshop, so she helped us all with editing images and created banners. As team captain, and because she is good at grammar, Ashley edited everyone’s writing, pointing out every little error to each and every person. Because of the fact that we all go to the same school and mostly have the same classes, working as a group during class was an advantage that many other groups in this competition don’t have. An especial help was the computer lab our history teacher has. The use of e-mail, Thinkquest, and phone made communication easy.

Team Diversity

Diversity was an important factor contributing to the creation of our website. We all have different ethnic backgrounds, experiences, and religions that add to the way we each think. We have one Korean member, three Chinese members, one Vietnamese member, and one Afghani member. We have pianists, a cellist, a flute player, a guitarist, and an er hu player. We have a member on a basketball team, a member on a debate team, a past ballet dancer, and a member on a swim team. Christians, an atheist, a Buddhist, and a Muslim add several different religious outlooks. Various perspectives and ideas helped to enhance the quality of our work. Overall, being different individuals greatly helped with the production of our website
