Team Collaboration
The final product came about after much sweat and tears. Our team had gone through a lot of hardships, but we made it through to the end. Our team has worked very well during the course of these past few months. We even had a trip to a science centre called "Petrosains" to gather more information. To further discuss on our topic, we stayed back after school hours until 6.00 pm on certain days and even came to school on Saturdays.
To add to the hardships we faced, at the end of this year, the students will be facing a very important examination, the Malaysian equivelant to SATs. We also do not have much time as most of it is taken up by studies, but we managed to fit in some extra slots for this narrative competition. I as the team's coach and an English language teacher, I also had to sacrifice some valuable time in order to get this important project done.
To further increase our burden, two of our team members were further burdened by their extra-curricular activities such as participating in a marching competition. But, the power of teamwork can overcome almost anything so, we managed to work on this project smoothly and without any delays.
The team members do go to the same school. But their houses are scattered across the town and beyond, one of them lives in a completely different state. Then again, we managed to overcome this problem by having our meetings at school.
So, again we can say that, our team has worked brilliantly during the course of these past few months. Although there were obstacles along the way, we managed to fight our way through to the very end together, as a team.
Team Diversity
Our team is comprised of six students with different cultural backgrounds and differences. Five of them are Malay and one is Hindi. This cultural difference never became and obstacle to them. Each of these students have their own strengths and weaknesses, which when they utilize together, they can achieve success.
Our first member, Humaira, is like our leader, she assigns us to the tasks we need to carry out like gathering information, which parts to write and what needs improvement. She always makes sure we are working hard and doing our tasks right. She herself also takes part in writing the narrative itself, especially about forests.
OUr next member is Shahir. He is our teams source of knowledge, it is his natural talent to gather information. Most of our findings are from his hardwork and talent. Shahir has made a fair contribution to writing the narrative, especially about minerals and the biosphere.
Next is Muaz. She has helped the team with her talent in creativity. She has helped make our banners and also our video that we added as a conclusion. She also made a large contribution. She has helped to write parts of the narrative which are about fossil fuels.
Our fourth member, Risi, is different from the rest of the team due to his cultural difference. However, that did not stop us from working together. Risi has done a lot in organising the structure of the narrative. He also contributed to the writing of the narrative by writing about the hydrosphere.
Our next member, Izzati, has helped a lot in this project. She deals with multimedia, like taking photos and shooting videos. She has made a major contribution in shooting our teams' video. She has helped the team write about Minerals, together with Shahir, and the Hydrosphere.
Our final team member Ali, is our team's reference when it comes to writing the narrative. Before I even have a chance to look at the team's work, he would already have edited most of the team's work in terms of language. Ali has also helped Shahir in gathering information. He has contributed to writing the narrative by writing about the Atmosphere and Fossil Fuels.
As a conclusion, we can proudly say, that despite our differences, we have managed to overcome all obstacles is our way and made it through together, to the end, as a team.
