Russian city Saint Petersburg is also called Northern Venice. What do the two cities — Italian Venice and Northern Venice — have in common? Our site may give some answers on this question. You'll get to know interesting facts from the history of the cities, about the influence of Italian culture on the one of Saint Petersburg and about the famous Italians who worked there. There are a lot of photos in the project to provide the visitiors with the visual information. The photos were made by the team in Saint Petersburg and Venice. There is a special part in the project telling about the contribution of Italians into the culture of Saint Petersburg. This part is made in two languages - Russian and English. The Russian version of this part is more complete. Hope, the visitors will enjoy the acquaintance with the two world architectural perls.
