Team Collaboration
All of us are from different High Schools and are participants of the University of Texas at El Paso’s Upward Bound Program. We got together during the six-week UTEP UB Summer Program, and three Saturdays a month during fall and spring. It has been hard for us to work as a team and get together after school and in the weekends due to our transportation issues. Joseph is our team leader, he helped to create the Population and Economy pages. Juan was the graphic designer for this website, and also worked on the Global Warming and Factories pages, Veronica part in creating this website were the sections on Education and Gas Prices in China; as well as taking photos and altering them, she assisted with the Works Cited page. Jorge worked on the About Us page and the Works Cited page, and he also altered pictures for the website, mostly in a funny way. It has not been smooth to work as a team, however, from this valuable team experience, we have learned to accommodate each others’ suggestions and work toward the same goal.
Team Diversity
Our team members come from different high schools in the same city. Our team lead, Joseph, attends Canutillo High School; Juan goes to Jefferson High School, Veronica attends Austin High School, and Jorge goes to Mountain View High School. We are participants of the Upward Bound Program at the University of Texas at El Paso, that’s where we met and formed our website team. We are Hispanic descendents, in our home we mostly speak Spanish, however we all have very different personalities, working and communication styles. Joseph is loud and outgoing, Juan is sensitive and approachable, Veronica loves taking and manipulating digital photographs and is very detail-orientated, and Jorge is funny and loves drawing. To overcome our different views, suggestions and input in order to come to a decision has not been easy. We did it! And we hope that you like our website.
